Summary

The article reported that cosmetic surgeries which are the procedures that can offer vital improvements to change the appearance to be charming women. According to the investigations demonstrated cosmetic surgeries bring psychological benefits.
Despite some women believe the surgeries can improve their quality of life, renew confidence and reduce depression, the research indicated cosmetic surgeries have only short term benefits for patients. The article also gives some statistic from the completed preoperative and postoperative assessment which showed one 6 month follow up study of 45 adult women who dissatisfied their body image after the operations. Women use various methods to enhance exterior attraction. Some women refuse to have surgeries to change their appearance but they rely on medications or therapy that can also cause effective improvement. The article also gives some examples of breast augmentation and liposuction have limited advantages which can shorten overtime through weight gain and aging .However, the majority of women prefer having the surgeries more than the nonsurgical approaches.

Response

In this article, I got the advantage of cosmetic surgeries that focus on psychological benefits such as improving self esteem. The article also reflects the imperfection of the surgeries that can not offer long term benefits. Also, the nonsurgical methods such as medication can replace cosmetic surgeries. In my point of view, I think cosmetic surgeries are effective ways to improve appearance but they can only maintain short term beauty. This is because the patients have to see the surgeons regularly after the operations to make sure and adjust everything are stable and safety of their body. Thus, I believe the surgeries can cause more negative effects than benefits. As the article reported that some patients dissatisfied their changes through the surgeries. They may fail in the operations and distort their nature appearance and destroy healthy. It is obvious that the surgeries involve high risk. However, I agree that women use the nonsurgical approaches such as medication instead of cosmetic surgeries to achieve the attraction effects due to less risk and avoiding painful surgical procedure.
