Sub-title: How Can the sustainable policies in Hong Kong can iron out the urban problem successfully?
Abstract
Urbanisation no longer brings us wealth and future but hazards. It is the time for us to sit down and plan the further [future]. The main concept of sustainable development is concerns the community future, thus it is the medicine for healing the illness caused by urbanisation. This paper takes Hong Kong as an example and tries to evaluate the achievements and weaknesses of the sustainable policies focusing on the housing problem. Singapore is another example used for comparison in order to make the analysis more objective. Finally, this paper attempts to explain the reasons why sustainable policies in Hong Kong are insufficient and less successfully than those in Singapore. Indeed, those policies are fair enough to solve the basic problems but there is room for improvement.
