Astronauts get Internet access in space
Last Friday, American astronauts sent the first live tweet from the space, for the first time, astronauts at the International Space Station realized their dream of accessing internet.
In the past, the tweets need to be sent to Mission Control in Houston via e-mail before being posted, but now the staff of the International Space Station can use computer to surf the internet at the Mission Control, and if the station is actively communicating with the ground, the remote internet access would be available for them.
According to NASA spokesman Kelly Humphries,” The astronauts fell lonely of being far away from family and friends for a long period, so we hope this can encourage them to keep up high morale and improve work efficiency.” But meanwhile, the astronauts will need to abide by the restrictions as the government staff, which means without having influence on work.
